Rutter's bets on one platform for fuel, food and retail

The 279-year-old convenience chain signed a multi-year deal with longtime partner NCR Voyix to deploy new POS, kitchen and fleet payment systems across its 94 stores.

Rutter's, the convenience store chain based in York, Pennsylvania, has signed a multi-year enterprise agreement with NCR Voyix to modernize point-of-sale technology across its network. The chain has 94 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia and will adopt a new platform to connect store, foodservice and forecourt workflows.

The rollout includes Voyix POS for CFR, Voyix Kitchen and Voyix Connect, along with managed services and field support. The system will also accept commercial fleet cards from Corpay, WEX and Voyager.

"As consumer expectations continue to evolve, we are investing in technology to create a more seamless and personalized experience across customer touchpoints," said Scott Hartman, President and CEO of Rutter's.

Rutter's was founded in 1747 and is still family-managed. It describes itself as the oldest vertically integrated food company in the United States. It has won the CSP Mystery Shop award for Best Customer Experience five times, most recently in 2026, and Global Convenience named it Best Foodvenience in the World in 2025.
