Shell Canada acquires 56 sites from Empire Canada
The acquisition advances Shell's strategy by strengthening their network in one of their core global markets.
Canadian Mobility Services Limited (CMS), a subsidiary of Shell Canada, has acquired 56 fuel and convenience retail stores from Empire Company and Sobeys. The sites are co-located with grocery stores of Sobeys and its affiliates in Western Canada and Western Ontario.
The acquisition advances Shell's strategy by strengthening their network in one of their core global markets.
“Today’s announcement supports Shell Canada’s ambitions for continued growth and to be leaders through the energy transition. These 56 locations will provide opportunities to offer customers expanded fueling options (including Shell Recharge electric vehicle charging, hydrogen & lower-carbon premium fuels) and enable growth of non-fuel sales through an enhanced convenience retail offering,” said Kent Martin, GM Shell Canada Mobility.
Shell’s immediate focus will be updating the rebranding the gas stations in order to meet the company standards.
