SPAR Austria launches over 100 parcel stations nationwide
First location in partnership with Austrian Post AG opens at EUROSPAR in Vienna’s Sagedergasse.
SPAR Austria and Austrian Post AG have announced a major partnership to install more than 100 parcel stations across the country. The initiative allows shoppers to conveniently combine their grocery trips with parcel pick-up and drop-off, offering round-the-clock access to postal services.
Hans K. Reisch, CEO of SPAR AG, highlighted the added convenience: “Being able to complete as many errands as possible in one place is practical, saves time, and improves quality of life. That is our goal.”
The rollout begins in eastern and southern Austria, with plans to expand nationwide in the coming months. The first station was officially opened at the EUROSPAR store on Sagedergasse in Vienna-Meidling, equipped with nearly 140 lockers and located directly in the store’s parking area.
Walter Oblin, CEO of Austrian Post AG, emphasized the significance of the expansion: “Customers benefit from maximum flexibility and can combine their postal needs with shopping. At the same time, we are strengthening local services across Austria and building a modern infrastructure that makes everyday life easier.”
The cooperation underlines a broader trend toward integrated retail and service hubs in Austria, combining food shopping with logistics solutions to meet growing demand for flexible, customer-friendly parcel services.
