Vexxil Energy acquires Direct Fuel Transport and McGuire Oil
The Alabama-based firm strengthens its logistics network and fuel transport capabilities across the Gulf Coast.
Alabama-based energy and logistics company Vexxil Energy has announced the acquisition of Direct Fuel Transport (DFT) and McGuire Oil Company (MOCO), marking a significant expansion of its fuel transportation and distribution operations across the southern United States.
According to the company, the move represents a “transformational acquisition” that enhances Vexxil’s scale, reach, and service capabilities for both proprietary and third-party customers. Headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, Direct Fuel Transport has earned a reputation for on-time performance, reliability, and fuel transport expertise.
With this acquisition, Vexxil gains control of one of the region’s largest dedicated fuel transport fleets, enabling same-day and next-day delivery services across an expanded territory. According to NACS, the company said the move allows it to serve new markets as a common carrier, delivering premium transport solutions to major retailers, regional operators, and national fuel brands.
“This is a defining moment for Vexxil Energy,” said Joel Poe, CEO and President of Vexxil Energy. “Direct Fuel Transport doesn’t just add capacity—it brings with it a reputation for excellence and a culture built on accountability to the customer. We’re proud to carry that legacy forward and build on it—because the brand they’ve built isn’t just respected, it’s trusted. And now, it becomes the foundation for how we deliver for the Gulf Coast and beyond.”
By integrating DFT and MOCO’s operations, Vexxil now oversees a larger logistics network designed to support key Gulf Coast industries such as construction, utilities, manufacturing, logistics, forestry, retail, and maritime operations across ports and marinas.
