Weigel’s will implement a new AI-driven point-of-sale (POS) platform across its 90 convenience stores in Tennessee, as the retailer continues to invest in technology aimed at enhancing operations and customer experience.

The family-owned retailer has partnered with Tote AI to bring together POS functions, back-office management, foodservice operations and store management tools into a single system. Through this move, the company aims to simplify daily operations for store teams while providing a technology foundation that can adapt as the business evolves.

“We're a big believer in the power of technology to make our stores better and our associates more productive,” said Doug Yawberry, President and CEO of Weigel’s. “Tote AI gives us a platform that can grow and evolve as quickly as our business does.”

Founded in 1931, Weigel’s operates 90 convenience stores, as well as a commissary, dairy and bakery serving locations across East Tennessee. The company has increasingly focused on modernizing its retail infrastructure while maintaining its emphasis on customer service and fresh food offerings.
