YPF app integrates banking services via Santander alliance
Partnership brings financial tools to one of Argentina’s largest digital ecosystems, reaching millions of users.
Santander Argentina and YPF have signed a long‑term strategic alliance to integrate the bank’s financial services directly into the energy company’s app. The agreement aims to simplify everyday financial interactions by combining Santander’s scale and security with YPF’s reach.
As part of the partnership, Santander will become the financial institution managing the virtual accounts of YPF Digital, enabling users to view balances, make transfers, and process payments directly within the app. Funds held in these accounts will automatically earn returns through the bank’s mutual funds, offering simple and transparent yield generation.
Currently, money held in the app accounts already represents more than 35% of all payments made through the platform. The energy firm’s digital wallet is accepted at more than 1,650 locations including service stations, Full convenience stores and Boxes service centers, and can also be used to pay third‑party services.
“This alliance will allow us to make new financial tools available to all YPF app users to enhance our customers' experience,” said Horacio Marín, president and CEO of YPF.
YPF Digital noted that the alliance strengthens its ecosystem by incorporating new financial capabilities as it evolves into the digital platform expected to lead mobility in Argentina, integrating payments, services and financial tools into a unified experience.
