7-Eleven launches Japanese-Style Egg Salad Sandwich across U.S. stores
The sandwich pays homage to the viral sensation known as tamago sando, a staple in Japanese convenience stores.
7-Eleven has introduced a new menu item inspired by one of Japan’s most popular convenience store snacks. The Japanese-Style Egg Salad Sandwich, made with soft milk bread and creamy egg salad featuring KEWPIE Mayonnaise, is now available nationwide at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations.
The sandwich pays homage to the viral sensation known as tamago sandoaple in Japanese convenience stores and a favorite among food enthusiasts online. KEWPIE Mayonnaise, a key ingredient, is celebrated for its rich, umami-packed flavor, crafted from egg yolks and a unique blend of seasonings.
“The egg salad sandwich has long been a favorite in 7-Eleven stores across Japan, and we’re excited to bring a version to U.S. customers,” said Brandon Brown, Senior Vice President of Fresh Foods at 7-Eleven, Inc. “Fans can now experience a taste of one of our most beloved international offerings.”
The launch reflects a growing trend of global flavors entering the U.S. convenience food market, as retailers seek to cater to adventurous consumers looking for authentic culinary experiences. Customers can pair the sandwich with classic 7-Eleven beverages such as Big Gulp or Slurpee for a complete snack.
