Convenience store chain Żabka has announced plans to open more than 140 seasonal stores in 2024. The initiative aims to increase accessibility for customers during holiday vacations and weekend getaways.

The seasonal expansion includes nearly 30 container stores and 116 stationary outlets. Most of these stores will be located in popular tourist destinations by the Baltic Sea.

Since the first modular seasonal stores were introduced in 2016 in Międzywodzie and Międzyzdroje, the concept has received positive feedback from both customers and franchisees. As a result, Żabka has continued to expand this model in various tourist spots.

"During the peak season, Żabka stores in tourist areas are visited more frequently, which leads to higher revenues but also requires greater involvement in managing orders and monitoring weather conditions,” said Joanna Górska, a franchisee operating Żabka stores in Goleniów, Łukęcin, and Modrzewie.

Żabka's strategy also includes converting some seasonal stores into permanent locations. Currently, 21 former seasonal stores are now operating year-round, in places such as Charzykowy, Dziwnówek, Mielno, Niechorze, Rewal, and Jastrzębia Góra.
