Aral adds Happy Slice pizza to convenience offer at 800 stations

Concept from streamers Knossi and Trymacs expands into Germany’s largest fuel retail network.

Aral has added “Happy Slice” pizza to its food offering at around 800 stations nationwide following a successful launch in Cologne. Customers can now find the pizza brand’s Margherita and Salami varieties, marking the first time the product has been offered at fuel stations in Germany.

Happy Slice, created in 2023 by streamers Knossi and Trymacs together with Berlin-based food startup Lanch, is now available at over 100 locations, and Aral represents its biggest retail rollout yet. Across the station network, the pizzas are prepared in the bistro area in under three minutes and served in dedicated Happy Slice boxes.

“Happy Slice is an excellent addition to our offering at Aral stations,” said Achim Bothe, CEO of Aral. “With more than 900 REWE To Go shops already integrated into our network, we continue to meet the growing demand for fresh, on-the-go food and beverages.”

Knossi and Trymacs also welcomed the expansion: “Being present in Germany’s largest fuel station network brings us closer to our customers, and we’re excited to offer them delicious pizza slices wherever they are.”

The addition of Happy Slice aligns with Aral’s broader strategy of evolving its station network. Alongside expanding convenience food options, the retailer has advanced its fuel portfolio with Aral Futura lower-emission fuels, a new Ultimate Diesel formula, and the rollout of Aral HVO. In addition, its Aral pulse e-mobility brand now operates around 3,700 ultra-fast charging points at more than 500 sites.
