Aral welcomes Bayreuth’s first myflexbox parcel locker
The new 24/7 pickup and drop‑off point expands last‑mile services at a service station on Bernecker Straße.
myflexbox has launched Bayreuth’s first carrier‑neutral parcel locker, installed at the Aral service station on Bernecker Straße 51 in partnership with site operator Thomas Neugebauer. The new point offers round‑the‑clock parcel handling and integrates the city into myflexbox’s growing open network for last‑mile logistics.
Known for cultural landmarks such as the Margravial Opera House and the Richard Wagner Festival, Bayreuth now joins more than 700 cities across the DACH region where myflexbox operates. The location becomes part of a network that has surpassed 2,000 lockers, strategically placed in high‑traffic areas where people already run errands or refuel.
The company’s approach reflects a broader trend in which fuel stations are evolving into multifunctional mobility hubs. According to myflexbox CEO and founder Jonathan Grothaus, the Bayreuth installation demonstrates the value of these locations for everyday parcel services. “These types of center locations are particularly exciting for us. The frequency is high and people are already in shopping mode. This is exactly where the parcel locker seamlessly becomes part of everyday life,” he said. He added that users can access the locker 24/7 for DPD, GLS, UPS and FedEx shipments without needing an app or registration.
With this expansion, myflexbox continues building an open and flexible last‑mile infrastructure aimed at consolidating deliveries, reducing travel distances and making parcel services available where they are most needed. The company says such installations can help improve urban mobility, reduce CO₂ emissions and increase convenience for residents.
