ARKO reaches 450 dealer conversions
Company advances network optimization strategy as dealer achieves 41 site conversions in Q1.
ARKO Corp. continues its transition toward a dealer-based network model, achieving 450 conversions as part of its transformation strategy launched in 2024. With 41 company-operated stores converted into dealer locations during the first quarter of 2026, the move aims to improve operational efficiency and profitability across its U.S. convenience retail footprint.
The company also reported approximately 75 additional locations already committed or in progress, with expectations to complete these and further conversions before the end of 2026. This dealer model shift is central to ARKO’s channel optimization strategy, which is designed to streamline operations while maintaining fuel distribution and wholesale relationships.
At scale, the company expects the initiative to generate more than $20 million in annualized operating income benefits, excluding additional savings tied to reduced general and administrative expenses.
The transition comes as ARKO reported improved quarterly performance, including stronger fuel margins and merchandise results. The company is leveraging these gains to reinforce its restructuring efforts while reallocating capital toward higher-return opportunities.
In parallel, the company continues to invest selectively in new-to-industry locations and site upgrades, while advancing digital and loyalty initiatives to support customer engagement across its remaining retail network.
