Atawey secures €22M to scale hydrogen mobility across Europe

The French hydrogen station leader aims for industrial acceleration, European expansion, and financial profitability by 2025.

French provider of hydrogen refueling stations Atawey has announced a major capital raise of €22 million to fast-track its industrial development and solidify its role as a key partner for hydrogen mobility projects across Europe.

This funding round marks a significant milestone in Atawey’s ambition to deliver sovereign and competitive hydrogen infrastructure at scale. With 51 stations already deployed, two production sites, 150 employees, and record-breaking growth in 2024, the company is well-positioned to meet rising demand.

The French firm plans to use the new funds to accelerate delivery timelines, support ongoing projects in France and beyond, and reinforce its operational footprint in a rapidly evolving sector.

Building on this momentum, Atawey is intensifying its European expansion, following initial deployments in Italy, Spain, and the Benelux region. It is also pushing forward with the rollout of advanced hydrogen refueling solutions that combine performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. With these efforts, the company is aiming to achieve profitability by the end of 2025.

The €22 million fundraising was led by long-time investor Starquest, joined by the French state via the France 2030 initiative, ARMOR GROUP, a consortium of industrial partners, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional industrial fund (Fonds Régional Avenir Industrie).
