BGF Retail opens Korea’s largest logistics center
The new facility will support CU store distribution, import-export operations and smart warehouse management in the Busan region.
BGF Retail has inaugurated a new logistics center in Busan, creating what the company describes as the largest facility of its kind in South Korea's convenience store industry. Located in the Busan International Industrial Logistics City in Gangseo District, the center covers a site of over 47,000 m² with a total floor area of more than 128,000m².
The project represents BGF Retail's largest logistics infrastructure investment to date, with approximately KRW 260 billion ($190 million) invested. The company began pursuing the project after signing an investment agreement with the Busan Metropolitan Government in 2021. Construction started in 2024 and was completed in July 2025.
This logistics center is expected to strengthen product distribution to CU convenience stores across Busan and the wider Yeongnam region. Its location near Busan New Port will also allow the company to support import and export logistics alongside domestic distribution activities.
BGF Retail said the facility features automated storage and retrieval systems, digital picking technology and automated labeling equipment designed to improve warehouse efficiency and manage fluctuations in logistics volumes.
The center also includes solar power generation facilities capable of producing up to 2,700 MWh of electricity annually, supporting environmental initiatives while contributing to local job creation.
