Brazil fuel station authorities reach for first time remote Marajo island in Amazon mouth
Brazilian authorities from the ANP regulator together with other authorities such as the waterway police and the military carried out during March 24-31 for the first time an inspection of the fuel market of Ilha de Marajo which is an island located in the mouth of the Amazon.
As part of the operation it detected three cases of “low pump” which is a situation when the fuel dispensing volume does not represent the volume sold. In addition, there were cases detected of unauthorized sales of LPG.
“The Marajo island is considered the biggest waterway island in the world, demanding a complex logistic for its supervision because of its difficult access which must involve the use of air transport, roads and waterways,” the ANP authority said.
