Casey's grows convenience footprint via new acquisition
The retailer will take over Wow! Foodmart’s operations, which include one travel center and seven c-stores located in central Kentucky.
Casey’s General Stores is expanding its retail reach with the acquisition of Wow! Foodmart and its affiliated retail portfolio.
The transaction includes one travel center, seven convenience stores and four liquor stores, all located in central Kentucky, according to a statement from Downstream Energy Group (DEG), as reported by NACS.
DEG is a M&A advisory firm that serves companies that manage and operate convenience stores, travel centers and wholesale distribution of fuels. The company provided exclusive merger and acquisition advisory services to Wow! Foodmart.
This represents a new take over from Casey’s, as in July 2024 the company announced it will buy Fikes Wholesale, owner of 198 CEFCO convenience stores in a $1.145 billion deal.
With this latest transaction, the chain continues its momentum after a year full of mergers, acquisitions and bids in the c-store industry.
Founded over 50 years ago, Casey’s operates close to 2,900 convenience stores across the United States. The company has grown to become the third-largest c-store chain and the fifth-largest pizza chain in the US.
