Certas Energy opens £1.2m next-generation refueling site in Warrington
The site offers HVO, diesel, and AdBlue with high-speed pumps capable of dispensing up to 120 litres per minute.
The UK’s Certas Energy has opened a new £1.2 million bunker site in Warrington, its first addition to the network in five years. The “Omega” site is strategically located near Junction 8 of the M62, providing 24/7 access for heavy goods vehicles along key freight corridors in the North West.
The site offers Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), diesel, and AdBlue, and features high-speed pumps capable of dispensing up to 120 litres per minute. Certas says the facility strengthens the region’s transport infrastructure and supports operators shifting toward lower-carbon fuels. The Omega site is also designed for flexibility, allowing fuel storage compartments to be adjusted as demand for HVO grows.
Equipped with advanced safety measures, including CCTV and anti-skimming technology, the bunker aims to combine security with efficiency. Its location bridges a key gap between Certas Energy’s existing bunkers at the Port of Liverpool and Trafford Park in Manchester, enhancing accessibility for logistics operators.
Certas’ head of estate development, Mike Heaton, said the site “marks an important step” in expanding the company’s network while making low-carbon fuels “more accessible to UK fleets.”
