Electrocharge, Petrol partner to install 200 EV charging points in Bulgaria

Charging locations planned nationwide to boost e-mobility and infrastructure reliability.

Electrocharge, the electric vehicle (EV) charging network by Electrohold, and fuel station chain Petrol have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the country’s EV infrastructure. Over the next three years, the companies plan to install more than 200 charging points along highways, major roads, and urban locations.

The first site is already operational at a Petrol station on Simeonovsko Shose Boulevard in Sofia’s Malinova Dolina district. It features a 120 kW DC fast charger, chosen for its convenient access to both the city network and the Ring Road.

This expansion aims to provide balanced coverage across Bulgaria and support the growth of e-mobility through predictable and reliable infrastructure. Electrocharge, launched by Electrohold in late 2024, already operates chargers in 18 cities including Sofia, Varna, Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana, and Vidin.

By combining Petrol’s extensive network with Electrocharge’s expertise, the partnership seeks to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for drivers nationwide.
