Elli expands charging network to 900,000 points in Europe
Volkswagen Group subsidiary launches new pricing model and grows charging infrastructure across the continent.
As of July, Elli now offers access to approximately 900,000 public charging points in 28 European countries through its app, the Elli Charging Card, and the Charge&Fuel Card.
Among the entire network of the Volkswagen Group’s subsidiary are 80,000 high-power charging (HPC) stations, underscoring its position as one of the largest charging providers in the region. This expansion is paired with the introduction of a transparent, simplified pricing structure designed to enhance affordability and consistency for electric vehicle (EV) users across borders.
The new tariff model supports features such as international roaming, Plug & Charge functionality, and competitively priced access to HPC networks, including Ionity.
“Our Elli charging network is seamless and reliable – a key enabler of borderless electric mobility. With every new charging point, we bring e-mobility closer to people’s everyday lives,” said Joschi Jennermann, CEO of the newly established Elli Mobility, a dedicated subsidiary now overseeing the Group’s charging and fueling services.
To highlight the maturity of the network, Guinness World Record holder Rainer Zietlow has partnered with Elli and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for a global electric journey in the ID. Buzz Pro. Aiming to set a new record for the “most countries visited in an electric vehicle,” Zietlow will drive through over 75 countries on six continents during the year-long trip, which begins in Europe and spans Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas.
Elli’s growth reflects both Volkswagen Group’s broader electrification strategy and the increasing demand for accessible, user-friendly charging solutions across Europe.
