Loop Neighborhood adds Krispy Krunchy Chicken to boost hot food offer

Twelve California stores to introduce the Cajun‑style concept as Loop expands its fresh and food‑to‑go strategy.

Loop Neighborhood is expanding its in‑store foodservice lineup through a new partnership that will bring Krispy Krunchy Chicken to a dozen locations across California. The move reflects the retailer’s broader plan to strengthen its hot food selection and enhance convenience for on‑the‑go customers.

The rollout includes stores in San Francisco, Elk Grove, Sacramento, Pittsburg, Brentwood, Temecula, Modesto, Arbuckle, Menifee, Stockton and Adelanto. Loop, known for its curated product assortment and marketplace‑style store design, is increasingly positioning food‑to‑go and fresh options as core components of its retail model.

Industry data underscores this move, as the 2025 NACS State of the Industry report revealed foodservice represents more than 36% of U.S. in‑store sales for c‑stores, with hot foods leading category growth. The addition of the Krispy Krunchy menu gives the retailer a turnkey platform to meet demand while reinforcing its fresh‑first identity.

The offering will also integrate into the Loop mobile app for digital ordering and customer engagement. Brandon Frampton, Director of Fresh Foods for Loop Neighborhood, said the partnership strengthens the customer experience: “Whether customers are picking up a quick meal or staying a little longer to savor the hand-breaded, small-batch prepared chicken, we have them covered.”

Loop operates 63 marketplace‑style stores across the Bay Area, Sacramento and Southern California, with a format built around fresh foods, daily essentials and an upgraded convenience retail experience.
