Maverik opens its POS and loyalty data to suppliers

The convenience chain with more than 830 locations in 20 states seeks to give suppliers a shared view of sales and shopper behavior.

Maverik has selected NIQ as its customer insights and analytics provider, which gives participating suppliers access to the retailer’s point-of-sale and loyalty data. The convenience and fuel retailer runs more than 830 locations across 20 states, from the Midwest to the West Coast.

Through the Activate platform, Maverik and its suppliers will share a single view of business performance that combines the chain’s first-party data with consumer analytics. The licensed tool provides reporting and performance insights to support category planning and day-to-day decisions. The agreement builds on an existing working relationship between the two companies.

“At Maverik, we want to help our suppliers better understand our business and the customers we serve,” said Byron Williams, Senior Director of Category and Merchandising at Maverik. “By selecting NIQ as our customer insights and analytics provider, we are establishing a standardized approach that gives suppliers access to Maverik’s point-of-sale and loyalty insights, helping them make informed decisions and identify opportunities for mutual growth.”
