Mer and NIO open first charging park in Kirchlengern
The new location offers eight fast-charging points with 300 kW output and battery swap services through the NIO Power Swap station.
Mer and NIO are further expanding their offering with the opening of a joint premium charging park in Kirchlengern, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Equipped with a sustainable wooden roof that includes a photovoltaic system, the new charging hub is the first location in Germany to combine Mer's comprehensive range with NIO's Power Swap Stations. This combines battery swapping capabilities with four hyperchargers capable of charging two vehicles at the same time.
“The facility in Kirchlengern reflects our commitment to innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. Among other things, we are focusing on continuing and deepening our cooperation with Mer Germany,” says David Sultzer, General Manager NIO Germany.
A total of eight new fast-charging points are available to EV drivers, enabling efficient and fast charging with up to 300 kW of power. All charging points are powered by 100% certified green electricity.
“Together, we have built the first charging park that expands the region's charging options and also offers battery swaps for NIO users,” commented Lisa Striegl, Project Manager at Mer Germany
In addition to a fast charging and swapping experience, a sustainable wooden canopy offers protection from all weather conditions. The location is also easy to find at night thanks to the photovoltaic system and integrated advertising lighting.
