OKQ8 and Skellefteå Kraft have signed a new five-year agreement to deepen their collaboration on public electric vehicle (EV) charging in Sweden, as they move into the next phase of developing the country’s largest network by number of locations. The partnership, first established in 2021, now shifts its focus toward improving accessibility, flexibility and supporting further electrification of transport.

The network currently spans nearly 300 locations nationwide, positioning it as Sweden’s most extensive public charging infrastructure in terms of coverage. Under the agreement, Skellefteå Kraft will continue to manage investment, construction, operations and the supply of renewable electricity, while OKQ8 will oversee site development, payment solutions and customer traffic at its service stations.

“We are proud of what we have built together in just a few years. By combining our strengths, we have created a charging network that makes a difference for people across Sweden,” said Karin Eriksson, CEO of OKQ8 Scandinavia.

The updated collaboration reflects evolving market dynamics, with both companies aiming to align expansion plans more closely with demand and user needs. While the initial rollout focused on achieving broad geographic coverage, the next stage will prioritise strengthening capacity in high-demand areas and enhancing user experience.
