Approximately 200 stations of the OMV Group in Austria now offer customers the option to pay for fuel at the pump through their smartphones.

The retailer has partnered with PACE Telematics to unlock this feature across its fuel retail network. OMV expects to expand this option to another 200 locations by the end of the first half of 2024.

From now on, users of the PACE Drive app can pay their fuel bill at the brand’s stations throughout Austria via smartphone, smartwatch or even their vehicle’s infotainment system directly at the pump.

“We are delighted to have an important partner at our side and to be driving the digital transformation in Austria forward with them. This is just the beginning of our joint digitalization journey, and we are looking forward to the future,” said Philip Blatter, Managing Director and Founder of PACE Telematics GmbH.

The PACE Drive app uses the company’s cloud-based “Connected Fueling” platform. OMV currently operates close to 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries.
