Parkopedia, Škoda enhance in-car payment functionality

The new addition includes live notifications to let drivers know when they are near locations that support this type of transaction.

In a move to improve the driving experience, Parkopedia and Škoda have updated their in-car payment services to make it easier for drivers to pay for parking and fueling through their vehicle’s infotainment system.

With the introduction of live notifications, drivers will now be alerted when they are near locations that support in-car payment transactions. This new feature, part of an ongoing collaboration between both companies, is designed to simplify the process of locating parking and fueling stations.

The notifications appear directly on the vehicle's infotainment screen, guiding drivers to stations where they can complete payments for parking and fuel.

“New cars are packed with features, and it can be difficult for drivers to find the connected services they need. Our collaboration with Škoda simplifies this by intelligently notifying drivers about available in-car payment services, improving their overall experience,” said Markus Dohl, VP of Sales & Business Development Europe at Parkopedia.

The functionality, initially available for fuel-powered Škoda models starting in Q2 2024, will eventually extend to the Škoda Enyaq and the upcoming all-electric Škoda Elroq, with additional electric vehicle models receiving the feature in 2025.

The system also supports a variety of payment methods, including 160 kW CCS and 40 kW CCS or CHAdeMO plugs for electric vehicle charging.
