Pops Mart sells retail and wholesale fuel operations in the U.S.

Sunoco LP acquired 36 of Pops Mart’s 54 convenience stores along with its wholesale distribution arm.

Pops Mart Fuels, an East Coast convenience retailer, has sold its convenience‑store and wholesale fuel businesses to several buyers, according to a report from C‑Store Dive. Terry Monroe, founder of American Business Brokers & Advisors, which coordinated the transaction, confirmed the deal.

Sunoco LP acquired 36 of Pops Mart’s 54 convenience stores along with its wholesale distribution arm, according to the broker’s website. Petroleum Marketing Group purchased seven stores, while details on the remaining 11 sites have not yet been disclosed. Financial terms were not made public.

The sale underscores the mounting pressure on smaller regional operators as consolidation accelerates across the convenience retail sector. Pops Mart’s independent run was relatively brief: the South Carolina‑based company became its own entity in 2021 after Winnsboro Petroleum sold its assets to fuel investors Don Draughon and JD Dykstra. The retailer expanded to 54 stores through a series of acquisitions, including a move into Wisconsin in 2023.
