PowerGo expands charging network across key European highways

New sites in Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium boost access to 480 kW EV charging.

PowerGo is expanding its ultra-fast charging infrastructure across Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium with a series of new highway installations.

The rollout aims to meet rising demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging in Europe by offering drivers high-speed, reliable, and accessible solutions, with charging speeds of up to 480 kilowatts.

In Denmark, PowerGo recently won a new tender from the Danish Road Directorate to install 10 ultra-fast chargers across three key highway locations. The sites complement the company’s existing high-capacity charging stations at Lillebælt Syd and Haderup.

As for the Netherlands, PowerGo will develop a new hub in North Holland, situated at the Gasterij Vuurland event venue along the A9 near Knooppunt Beverwijk. The site will be upgraded in phases, eventually supporting car and electric truck charging with a higher-capacity grid connection.

“With the expansion of our ultra-fast charging network along European highways, we are taking another important step towards making electric driving even more accessible for everyone. And we are far from done: more new locations will follow soon,” said Ivo van Dam, CEO of PowerGo.

PowerGo also secured a tender to build a six-point charging hub in Ghent, Belgium, as part of the urban development project The Loop. The hub will feature 400 kW chargers serving one of the country’s busiest corridors.

In Spain, PowerGo is partnering with SEITT, the Spanish state-owned transport infrastructure firm, to deploy 24 ultra-fast chargers at six service areas around Madrid. Positioned along highways R2, R3, and R5, the new chargers offer a maximum capacity of 400 kW each.

All new locations will prioritize user comfort and accessibility, offering amenities such as canopies, restrooms, vending machines, and improved accessibility features.
