Preem and Recharge open fastest EV charging station in Ödeshög
The initiative supports Sweden’s national target of reducing the transport sector’s climate impact by at least 70% by 2030.
Sweden's largest fuel retailer Preem has partnered with Recharge to open a new high-performance EV charging station in Ödeshög. Equipped with four charging points offering a capacity of up to 300 kW, the facility provides the fastest charging options for light vehicles, including passenger cars, in Östergötland.
The initiative supports Sweden’s national target of reducing the transport sector’s climate impact by at least 70% by 2030, compared to 2010 levels. Building on its earlier introduction of Sweden’s first domestically produced renewable fuel, HVO100, Preem is now advancing its commitment to sustainability with expanded EV infrastructure.
“The transition to electric vehicles demands a strong and efficient charging network. The new charging points in Ödeshög are a critical step in providing EV drivers with accessible and high-performance charging solutions,” said Håkon Vist, CEO of Recharge.
The charging station is designed for convenience, allowing drivers to charge any vehicle brand while utilizing the station's store and amenities.
“This launch marks a significant milestone in our journey toward becoming a key player in sustainable transportation,” said Tobias Henmark, Head of E-Mobility at Preem.
This project is part of a broader collaboration between Preem and Recharge, aimed at bolstering Sweden’s EV charging infrastructure. Earlier this year, the two companies opened additional charging hubs in high-traffic areas with financial support from the Swedish Energy Agency.
