Royal Farms introduces crypto ATMs across stores
Convenience retailer adds digital currency access at more than 300 locations in seven U.S. states.
Royal Farms has expanded its in-store services with the rollout of cryptocurrency ATMs across its full network of more than 300 convenience stores. The move comes through an exclusive partnership with fintech company Bitstop, which has installed its machines at all locations, with additional units to be deployed as new stores open.
The ATMs enable customers to buy and sell multiple digital currencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Ripple and USD Coin. Bitstop says the installation marks one of the largest regional expansions of crypto ATM access in the United States, bringing cash-to-crypto services to Royal Farms’ footprint in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina and West Virginia.
“Partnering with Bitstop allows us to meet growing demand for digital currency services in a safe, secure, user-friendly way,” said Frank Schilling, Director of Procurement at Royal Farms. “Whether it’s everyday essentials, world-famous chicken or digital currency, we’re committed to innovation that builds trust with every transaction.”
Bitstop Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Doug Carrillo said the partnership aims to make digital assets more accessible to everyday shoppers by offering on-demand access at familiar retail locations.
Royal Farms, founded in 1959 and headquartered in Baltimore, continues to expand across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, with further store openings, and accompanying Bitstop ATMs, planned.
