Seven & i Holdings announced an organizational overhaul to reinforce its international business as a core growth pillar, alongside its domestic 7‑Eleven Japan and North American operations. The changes, effective next month, aim to streamline decision-making, integrate global functions and strengthen coordination across markets.

As part of the restructuring, the company will establish a new International Business Management Office, which will oversee international convenience store operations previously managed by 7‑Eleven Japan. A dedicated International Operations Department will be created under the new unit, which will report directly to the CEO, reflecting the strategic importance of global expansion.

The transformation also includes the reorganization of several corporate functions. Global planning capabilities will be consolidated into a newly named Global Business Planning Department, while a Global Talent Development Department will be formed to support workforce alignment and capability building across regions. In addition, merchandising and expansion-related functions will be integrated into a Global Merchandising Development Department.

The initiative is designed to consolidate international strategy under a single structure, improving execution and collaboration with 7‑Eleven International. It also includes a series of leadership changes to align responsibilities with the new structure.

The move underscores Seven & i’s focus on expanding its convenience store operations worldwide, as the company continues to integrate global assets and position its international business for long-term growth.
