Shell agrees deal to sell French forecourts to DCC Energy
The proposed transaction covers around 70 sites, eight LNG installations and 35 employees, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2027, pending consultation with staff representatives.
Shell has agreed to the proposed sale of its French fuel station network and related transport fuel services to Dublin-based DCC Energy, as reported by Reuters. The agency cited a person familiar with the matter and documents it had seen. It said the transaction covers around 70 sites, eight liquefied natural gas (LNG) installations and 35 employees.
The agreement has not been finalized. Completion is expected in the second quarter of 2027, subject to consultation with employee representatives. The value of the transaction was not immediately known.
According to the report, DCC Energy would run the stations under a long-term Shell brand licence. Shell’s core fuel supply operations are excluded, so the buyer would source fuel independently.
DCC Energy sells and distributes energy across Europe and the US, mainly through off-grid solutions led by liquefied gas. It also operates service stations and fleet services.
