Sorégies to acquire bp pulse charging network in France
The deal includes more than 600 fast-charging points, 14 sites under development and a dedicated team, positioning Sorégies among France’s top 10 rapid charging operators.
Sorégies has signed an agreement with bp to acquire the oil company's electric vehicle (EV) charging business in France, a transaction that will significantly expand its presence in the country's fast-charging market.
The acquisition covers 32 bp pulse charging sites currently in operation, representing more than 600 charging points, as well as 14 additional sites under development that are expected to add nearly 200 charging points. The deal also includes charging equipment, electrical substations and the employees dedicated to the business.
Expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary conditions, the transaction will place Sorégies among the top 10 operators of rapid charging infrastructure in France by number of charging points. The company plans to invest more than €100 million in e-mobility by 2030 as part of its broader €1.5 billion investment program.
The acquisition strengthens Sorégies' footprint at motorway locations and major commercial destinations while supporting the national expansion of its charging operations. The Poitiers-based energy group already manages more than 1,000 charging points in the Vienne and Indre regions.
The charging assets will be integrated into the group’s Mobilités subsidiary. Under the plan, the charging stations will operate under the Alterna énergie brand, creating synergies with the company's energy supply activities.
Earlier this year, Alterna énergie completed the acquisition of Swedish energy company Vattenfall's retail energy supply business in France.
“The e-mobility sector sits at the intersection of our activities: we produce and aggregate renewable electricity, supply it to customers and develop the infrastructure needed to use it in transport,” said Frédéric Bouvier, Chairman of Sorégies' Executive Board. “This transaction gives us the means to scale this integrated model nationally and contribute concretely to the electrification of society.”
The acquisition is part of Sorégies' strategy to support transport electrification and advance its goal of supplying customers with 100% renewable electricity throughout the year by 2030.
