Sunoco to launch in-car fuel payments across North America
New integration brings seamless vehicle-based payments to more than 5,700 Sunoco locations
Sunoco LP and connected vehicle technology provider Sheeva.AI are partnering to offer modern fuel payment in North America. The collaboration will see Sheeva.AI’s platform integrated into over 5,700 Sunoco fuel stations, enabling drivers to authorize and pay for fuel directly from their vehicle's infotainment system.
The move represents a broader shift toward frictionless, in-car payment solutions in the mobility and convenience retail sectors. Using patented geolocation technology, SheevaConnect™ can identify a vehicle’s exact position—down to the specific fuel pump—allowing transactions to be completed with a single touch, without the need for apps, QR codes, or additional hardware at the site.
“This partnership with Sunoco significantly expands our ability to deliver a streamlined driver experience across North America. It’s not just about enabling payment—it’s about transforming how drivers engage with everyday services on the road,” said Evgeny Klochikhin, CEO and Founder of Sheeva.AI.
Originally deployed in India through partnerships with automotive manufacturers like Stellantis, Sheeva.AI has extended its platform to support a range of additional services, including EV charging, car washes, tolls, and parking. The company reports having mapped more than 3 million service locations globally and aims to have its technology installed in over one million vehicles by the end of 2025.
