Viva Energy taps new supply partnership
The company will supply its premium diesel product to V/Line, one of Australia’s fastest growing rail networks.
Viva Energy announced the signing of a new fuel-supply agreement with V/Line, Victoria’s regional passenger train and coach service operator.
V/Line is one of Australia’s fastest growing rail networks, facilitating more than 21 million passenger trips in 2023 on its train and coach services, with five commuter lines and eight long-distance routes across Victoria. This agreement will see the energy company supply the firm with Shell Diesel Extra, its leading premium diesel product.
A key part of the agreement was V/Line’s desire to maximize regional production and delivery. Viva Energy is delivering fuel either manufactured by, or imported through, its Geelong Refinery, supporting local content, regional jobs and communities.
“As a frequent train traveler myself, I regularly rely on the V/Line service to commute to our refinery in Geelong and appreciate its importance. It is gratifying to know that Viva Energy is now playing a vital role in supporting V/Line to connect regional Victorians,” said Scott Wyatt, CEO of Viva Energy.
Viva Energy will be providing fuel into key locations including Southern Cross, Geelong, Footscray, Wyndham Vale, Waurn Ponds, Ballarat, Bendigo and Shepparton as well as small-drop deliveries into key regional stations, including Traralgon.
