Z Energy has opened a new Z Truck Stop and U-GO self-service fuel station in Tauriko, expanding fuel infrastructure in one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing commercial and industrial areas.

Located near major transport routes connecting Tauranga, Waikato and Auckland, the site is designed to support freight operators, local businesses and motorists traveling through the Bay of Plenty region. The facility opened to the public in early August and was officially marked with representatives from local iwi Ngāi Tamarāwaho, regional stakeholders and customers.

“We’re investing in the fuel infrastructure that helps keep New Zealand moving,” said Tim Bailey, General Manager Customer at Z Energy. “Tauriko is an important freight and commercial area, and this site ensures customers have access to the fuel infrastructure they rely on today and into the future.”

Tauriko has experienced significant commercial growth in recent years, increasing demand for transport and logistics infrastructure. According to the company, bringing a truck stop and a self-service forecourt together at a single location provides greater flexibility for different customer groups.
