Aral AG looks to upgrade its service stations operations to improve customer experience and productivity throughout its network. The fuel retailer has partnered with Zebra Technologies Corporation to deploy its software solutions to increase the efficiency of operations.

The firm was looking for a new technology solution that would provide a holistic, real-time view of completed tasks and better ways to conduct health, safety and environmental inspections (EHS) compliance checks. Aral regularly carries out EHS to check cleanliness and product availability in addition to other tasks such as product inspections and the implementation of promotions.

The retailer decided to implement the Zebra solutions Reflexis Real-Time Task Manager as well as the audit module Q-Walk. The solutions include communication with the individual service stations and task management, as well as auditing during regular service station inspections.

"More than 130 field staff and 1,200 franchise service station partners in Aral service stations are already using the Zebra software solution on their mobile devices, which has led to better task execution and compliance standards. In the future, this solution will support an additional 1,200 service station partners," said Christina Völker, Retail Digital Project Coordinator at Aral.

The solutions are designed to simplify station operations, reduce workload and make progress measurable, enabling station partners to efficiently manage }tasks and customer requests, as well as comply with EHS standards. In addition, it automatically prioritises tasks and assigns them to partners so they can always see immediately what needs to be done next. It also streamlines communication by displaying completed tasks in all petrol stations.

These solutions help to create a safer and cleaner customer environment and provide a shopping experience that meets customers' needs. The data from the systems will also feed into Aral's annual compliance audit.
