Casey’s acquires ASAP Energy, adding 16 Oklahoma stores
The acquisition expands Casey’s footprint across the state while strengthening its presence in smaller communities.
Casey’s has acquired Oklahoma-based ASAP Energy, adding 16 convenience stores to its growing retail network and further expanding its presence in the state.
Transaction includes ASAP Energy’s network of stores, which operate primarily in smaller Oklahoma communities and feature fuel retailing, convenience offerings and Lucille’s Roadhouse Restaurants. The sale marks the end of 47 years of ownership by Rick and Sheila Koch, who founded and grew the Weatherford-based business into a regional convenience retail operator, as reported by The Oklahoman.
According to the sellers, Casey’s was selected in part because of its strong presence in small-town markets and its focus on employee development. Founded in Iowa in 1968, Casey’s has grown into one of the largest convenience store operators in the United States and continues to expand through a combination of acquisitions and new-store development.
The acquisition strengthens Casey’s position in Oklahoma following previous expansion efforts in the state and adds another group of community-focused locations to its portfolio. For ASAP Energy, the transition is expected to provide employees with access to additional resources and career opportunities within a larger retail organization.
