Electra opens its most powerful European charging station in Madrid
The Carabanchel Electralinera features 26 charging points delivering up to 600 kW.
French EV charging specialist Electra has inaugurated their most powerful urban ultra-fast charging station, in the Carabanchel district of Madrid, following a €3 million investment and a concession awarded by Madrid City Council.
The Carabanchel Electralinera features 26 charging points delivering up to 600 kW. The site serves 22 passenger vehicles and four commercial vehicles simultaneously, and includes a 100 kWp photovoltaic canopy for self-consumption alongside a battery energy storage system..
"We want to bring ultra-fast charging to the heart of the city so drivers can charge quickly, simply and reliably where they really need it," said Bastien Verot, CEO of Electra Spain. "This project shows that collaboration between companies and public institutions is fundamental to accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility."
Electra now operates 18 Electralineras in Spain, eight of them in the Madrid region, and is targeting 50 sites nationally by 2027. The company operates more than 750 installations across 10 European countries.
