7-Eleven introduces Tesla Superchargers at c-stores in Japan
Pilot deployment expands EV fast-charging options, with plans to roll out Tesla Superchargers to around 10 stores by the end of fiscal 2026.
7-Eleven Japan has installed Tesla Superchargers at one of its stores for the first time, expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging options for customers and incorporating fast charging into the convenience store experience.
The first site was established at the 7-Eleven Kawasaki Shibokuchi Higashi store in Kanagawa Prefecture. The location features four Tesla Supercharger stalls compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS), providing EV drivers with access to high-power charging while shopping.
According to 7-Eleven Japan, the chargers can deliver up to 250 kW of power, allowing vehicles to gain a practical amount of range in approximately 15 to 30 minutes. The service is available 24 hours a day, with charging fees varying according to power output.
The retailer said the initiative is intended to improve convenience for EV drivers as adoption continues to grow in Japan. By combining its store network with Tesla’s charging technology, the company aims to provide drivers with more opportunities to recharge during routine visits.
Future deployments will focus on stores with larger parking areas, and 7-Eleven plans to install Tesla Superchargers at approximately 10 locations during fiscal year 2026.
Tesla’s Supercharger network is one of the largest fast-charging networks in the world, with more than 80,000 charging points globally. In Japan, the company operates 744 Superchargers across 150 locations, spanning the country from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
