Air Liquide and H2 MOBILITY sign renewable hydrogen supply contract
This framework agreement marks a milestone for climate-neutral mobility in the industrial heart of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Air Liquide and H2 MOBILITY signed a multi-year supply contract for renewable hydrogen in the Rhine-Ruhr region, in Germany. This framework agreement marks a milestone for climate-neutral mobility in the industrial heart of North Rhine-Westphalia.
As part of this agreement, Air Liquide will supply existing and future hydrogen refueling stations of H2 MOBILITY for trucks and buses in the Rhine-Ruhr region with renewable hydrogen. The hydrogen will come from Air Liquide’s “Trailblazer” electrolyzer in Oberhausen. The supply contract has a volume of up to 1,000 tons per year.
“By 2028, we want to operate all H2 MOBILITY refuelling stations with renewable hydrogen. The contract with Air Liquide brings us a significant step closer to this ambitious goal in the Rhine-Ruhr region,” Frank Fronzke, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of H2 MOBILITY.

At the beginning of 2025, the German Federal Environment Agency recognized the certification of RFNBO in accordance with the systems approved by the European Commission. Subsequently, in April 2025, Air Liquide was the first company in Germany to receive official certification based on the ISCC EU certification scheme for the 20 MW electrolyzer in Oberhausen.
