Aral becomes the largest ultra-fast charging provider in Germany
The company appears as the top operator of fast-charging sites according to the latest survey by the e-mapping service Schnellladepark.app.
After one year and half of launching its network of ultra-fast charging stations, Aral has become the largest provider of the service in Germany. According to the e-mapping service Schnellladepark.app, the e-mobility brand of the fuel retailer has become the biggest network of publicly accessible stations with at least 150 kW chargers.
The company appears as the top operator of charging stations in the country on the "Top Operator Fast Charging Parks" overview survey published by the service in July. In any of these sites, drivers can charge their electric vehicle (EV) within around ten minutes for a range of up to 300 km.
"In order to increase the attractiveness of electric cars, we need not only innovative charging solutions, but also a fast and simple charging infrastructure. For this reason, we are making good speed in the expansion of the network. This is paying off our goal of accelerating the ramp-up of e-mobility - and offering our customers even more convenience and flexibility," said Alexander Junge, Aral Board Member for e-mobility.
For the survey, the Schnellladepark.app uses data from the Going Electric charging station directory, which is currently considered the most reliable source in terms of the number of charging points and locations due to the up-to-dateness of the data. The evaluation takes into account all fast-charging parks that are open around the clock and have public charging points with at least three CCS connections. Thus, a total of 131 Aral pulse charging stations are listed in the overview.
In total, Aral currently provides customers with around 860 charging points at over 150 locations - including charging points with only two CCS connections. But the company plans to have 1,500 points in the country by the end of the year and around 5,000 by 2025.
