Saudi Aramco is eyeing a corporate reorganization that would create a dedicated gas division The move is intended to support the company's growing focus on natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) while providing additional flexibility for future fundraising initiatives.
As Reuters reported, the restructuring would establish a standalone platform for managing Aramco's domestic gas resources and expanding its international LNG portfolio. The new business structure could also facilitate future listings of selected business units, allowing the company to raise capital while maintaining control of its core operations.
The strategy mirrors a broader trend among Gulf energy companies, which have increasingly monetized parts of their businesses through public offerings and infrastructure transactions. In recent years, ADNOC has listed stakes in businesses including gas, drilling and fuel retail operations, while both ADNOC and Aramco have attracted investment through pipeline and infrastructure deals.
Natural gas has become a key growth area for Aramco as Saudi Arabia seeks to diversify its economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues. One of the company's most significant projects is the Jafurah gas field, considered the centerpiece of its gas portfolio, which began production in 2025.
The creation of a dedicated gas division could strengthen the company's ability to support the kingdom's economic transformation plans while accelerating investments across the gas value chain.
