Arko pilots eco-friendly EV fast-charging station
The company has deployed a new type of electric charging facility developed by Israeli e-mobility firm Zooz Power.
Arko Corporation has debuted an innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging station in partnership with ZOOZ Power, an e-mobility company based in Israel. The company rolled out the equipment at a Scotchman convenience store located in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
This fast charging facility is supported by Zoozter-100, a flywheel-based kinetic power booster that provides green electricity. The technology can help retailers in overcoming a grid's power-limitations and help the ones located in remote areas with an underdeveloped grid
This roll out is part of Zooz’s plans for a further deployment across North America. These include locations at New York's LaGuardia Airport and additional pilot projects with the New York Power Authority and a large car rental agency.
ARKO, father company of retail firm GPM Investments, established this eco-friendly EV charging station alongside ABM, a leader in eMobility design, installation, and maintenance solutions. Throughout the pilot test, the Zoozter-100 will be publicly accessible for EV drivers while Arko and ABM monitor operations.
