Atlas Energy to rebrand entire station network to Oryx Energies
The company will change its name to Oryx Energies Gambia as part of the integration and consolidation with the Oryx group of companies.
Oryx Energies SA, the Pan-African group of companies headquartered in Switzerland, has announced the complete acquisition of Atlas Energy Limited after purchasing a majority stake back in 2017. During the last quarter of 2021, Oryx has completely acquired the company, which will change its name to Oryx Energies Gambia and undergo a full rebranding of its service stations.
Currently, the company supplies, stores and distributes energy products for consumers, businesses and maritime operations, including fuels, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), lubricants and specialised bunkering services. This name change is part of a larger initiative to continue the focus on serving customers and to collaborate successfully with partners in The Gambia.

The combination of our network of 27 service stations and businesses with Oryx Energies’ expertise in more than 20 African countries for over 30 years, enables Oryx Energies Gambia Ltd. to consolidate its position as a market leader of energy products and services in B2C and B2B segments,” said Babacar Ndiaye, Managing Director of Oryx Energies Gambia.
For marketing and branding purposes, Oryx Energies Gambia will rebrand its retail network of 27 service stations gradually under the ORYX brand offering a large range of Oryx Energies’ products.
“Increasing our stake to full ownership represents an exciting strategic opportunity to further develop our product and service portfolio backed up with high quality standards and ISO certifications on a national scale in The Gambia. We are now exceptionally well positioned to meet customer demand for fuel, lubricants and LPG. To this end, we intend to significantly increase the number of service stations over the next five years,” added Moussa Diao, CEO of Oryx Energies SA.
