bp expands Fuelcard to include EV charging for fleets in New Zealand
New 'tap and charge' feature supports businesses transitioning to e-mobility.
bp has expanded its Fuelcard offering in New Zealand to include electric vehicle (EV) charging, enabling fleet customers to recharge, refuel, and shop using a single card.
The new ‘tap and charge’ functionality is available through bp charge, providing a streamlined solution for businesses managing both internal combustion engine (ICE) and EV fleets. The update allows fleet operators to track fuel and EV usage, process transactions at convenience stores, and handle invoicing and payments through a single account.
“Mobility is changing, and we’re supporting our customers wherever we can,” said Paul Augé, Senior Vice President, bp Australia and New Zealand. “Some fleets are fully electric while others are just beginning the transition—this new feature ensures a seamless experience for all.”
This expansion reflects the company’s broader efforts to support sustainable transport solutions. Since 2022, it has installed 200 EV charge points at more than 60 locations across the country, with more sites planned.
The move also underscores bp’s ongoing investment in low-carbon mobility infrastructure and its commitment to making the EV transition easier for commercial fleets.
