Casey’s is expanding the use of AI-powered phone ordering across more than 2,600 locations, scaling a service that has already supported over 21 million guest interactions and processed millions of food orders nationwide.

The move underscores Casey’s focus on improving order accuracy and reducing friction during peak meal times, particularly for its pizza business. Automated agents answer incoming calls, take orders and route them directly to kitchens, helping stores avoid missed calls and long hold times while keeping staff focused on food preparation and in‑store service.

The technology has been trained on Casey’s menu to handle conversational ordering and routine questions about items and promotions.

“We’re focused on making it easier for our team members to deliver quality and convenience for our guests, especially during peak ordering times,” said Sanjeev Satturu, SVP and Chief Information Officer at Casey’s. “Expanding our partnership with SoundHound AI allows us to scale a proven solution that improves the guest ordering experience and helps our team members operate more efficiently across thousands of locations.”

By standardizing phone ordering, Casey’s aims to create a more consistent experience for customers while streamlining operations across a geographically dispersed store base. The rollout also supports higher throughput during busy periods, when manual phone handling can interrupt staff workflows.

Casey’s operates approximately 2,900 convenience stores across the U.S. and is the nation’s fifth‑largest pizza chain. The expanded deployment reflects a broader effort to use automation selectively to support service quality and operational efficiency without changing how customers prefer to order.
