Believ takes over 110 Blink chargers and plans 210 more
The UK charge point operator is replacing rapid units to improve reliability across more than 30 Brighton and Hove sites.
Believ has taken over more than 110 public chargers at over 30 locations in Brighton and Hove, previously operated by Blink Charging, in partnership with the local authority. The network combines 7–22 kW standard-plus chargers with rapid chargers of 50 kW and above, at sites including Elm Grove, London Road Car Park and King Alfred Car Park.
The charge point operator is keeping the existing standard-plus equipment, including cabling and infrastructure. Equipment at rapid charging sites is being replaced to meet public charging regulations and improve reliability, with completion expected by the end of November.
“With more than half of all households without access to off-street parking, public charging is vital to the region’s transition to EVs and delivering clean air for all,” said Guy Bartlett, CEO of Believ. “By retaining equipment where possible, upgrading rapid charging locations and working closely with the local authority, we’re taking a practical approach to delivering a reliable network for Brighton.”
Believ also plans to install 210 additional rapid and ultra-rapid chargers in the area by the end of 2028.
