bp pulse opens Australia’s largest airport EV charging hub
The 24-bay site with 150 kW and 300 kW chargers runs on renewable power from Melbourne Airport’s two onsite solar farms and includes truck-friendly drive-through bays.
bp has opened a 24-bay electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Melbourne Airport, combining 150 kW and 300 kW chargers with truck-friendly drive-through bays. Open 24/7, the site runs on 100% renewable electricity generated by Melbourne Airport’s two onsite solar farms and offers restrooms alongside free Wi-Fi
The hub sits in a precinct used by more than 60,000 vehicles a day and complements bp’s existing service station, truck stop and wild bean café there.
“We’re building an integrated mobility network so we can support all our customers in the future,” said Paul Augé, President of bp Australia. “With EV sales reaching record levels in Australia, we’re proud to give our customers more choice.”
“We’re proud to partner with bp pulse to not only deliver Australia’s largest airport EV charging hub, but to do so with renewable power generated on-site here at Melbourne Airport,” said Jai McDermott, Chief of Ground Transport, Property & Retail at Melbourne Airport.
With a history of more than a century in Australia, bp operates a network of over 1,400 retail sites and bp pulse charging stations in the country.
