Coles to launch digital wallet for customers
The retailer has partnered with AP+ to develop its first QR payments platform to simplify the shopping experience.
Coles announced a partnership with Australian Payments Plus (AP+) to develop a bespoke digital wallet.
Both companies aim to make shopping experiences at the checkout simpler and faster for Australians, as AP+ will leverage its Beem digital wallet technology. This will enable customers to pay with one simple experience using the eftpos QR code at the stores.
Beem launched in 2018 and currently has over 1.7 million registered users across Australia.
“At Coles, we value what is important to our customers and we know they want quick checkouts, no wait times and an easy, seamless payment experience. We are excited to be working with AP+ to deliver this innovative digital experience for our customers leveraging the Beem wallet technology and the strength of the eftpos QR code platform,” said George Saoud, Chief Executive of Emerging Businesses at Coles.
Coles Group is an omnichannel retailer that employs more than 120,000 team members and operates a network of over 800 stores across Australia.
