DFI opens 2,000th 7-Eleven store in southern China

The DFI Retail Group-run network spans 14 cities in Guangdong, 34 years after the first store opened in Shenzhen, as the chain expands ready-to-eat food, own-brand products and digital services.

DFI Retail Group has opened its 2,000th 7-Eleven store in China’s Guangdong province. The network now spans 14 cities in the province, where the chain opened its first store in Shenzhen in 1992.

DFI credits the growth to its ready-to-eat range, own-brand products and brand collaborations, as reported by Inside Retail Asia. 7-Eleven Guangdong was also the first offline retail launch partner for the Weixin (WeChat) Pay Smart Business Robot.

“As we look ahead, our focus remains unchanged,” DFI said, pointing to further growth of the store network, a broader product range and an improved customer experience.

Besides Guangdong, DFI operates more than 1,100 7-Eleven stores in Hong Kong and Macau and around 400 in Singapore.
