Costco Partners with Electrify America to install EV fast chargers
Electrify America operates one of the largest open DC fast charging networks in the United States.
Costco Wholesale has partnered with North American EV charging network Electrify America to introduce a series of DC fast chargers at select Costco store locations. These chargers are now operational, with the initial rollout taking place in three states.
Electrify America operates one of the largest open DC fast charging networks in the United States, with over 4,000 charging stations across 47 states and the District of Columbia. The network is recognizable for its distinctive neon green charging units.
The charging stations feature Hyper-Fast chargers- capable of speeds up to 350 kW- and will help meet the growing demand for open and convenient fast charging.
The rollout comes as competition in the EV charging space intensifies. Tesla's recent decision to open its Supercharger network—boasting over 28,000 ports nationwide—to all EV makes and models may influence the competitive landscape. Electrify America remains a significant player in the market, with continued expansion efforts across North America.
Costco's integration of EV charging infrastructure aligns with broader trends in retail and transportation, where businesses are increasingly accommodating the needs of EV drivers.
